Gordon Harrison Hull
artist / creative director / guru
Gordon Harrison Hull has been a fixture in the creative world for over a decade. Throughout his impressive career, the multi-talented artist / creative director has left his mark on a number of domains both in New York and abroad due to his background in design, art, and writing. In addition to co-founding the Paris-based creative group Surface to Air, Gordon currently works for a global fashion brand based in New York City. In the past, he has also consulted on special projects for a wide-range of venerable companies, including Barneys New York, Levi’s, Adidas, and the New York Times.
In 2009, Hull lived down the street from the Crosby Street store and a relationship naturally formed. A shared interest in art and style prompted the initial conversation to collaborate on a collection that would blend Saturdays signature style with Hull’s creative sensibility. In Summer 2014, this vision was realized when Hull and Saturdays joined forces to create a capsule collection that reimagines Hull’s art as fashion. The collaboration consists of clothing and accessories, including a woven shirt, duffel bag, tote, hat, t-shirt, and boardshorts, which feature Hull’s original, multi-colored artwork. Each piece within the collection was inspired by lightning, rhythm, magnetism, and color – all manifestations of what he calls “a natural, lo-fi magic.”
