Our leather goods are hand-crafted at a small, family-owned leather workshop located in the Mukojima neighborhood of Tokyo by a man named Mr. T—who also happens to be the father-in-law of one of Saturdays’ earliest members, Mitsu. His leather business—founded in 1962—has over 40 years of experience producing leather goods and has worked with some of Japan’s most influential luxury brands.
To produce our line of card-holders, laptop sleeves, pouches, and wallets, Mr. T sources some of the best materials available. Cowhide leather from the Hyōgo Prefecture of Japan, RiRi zippers, and natural dyes are transformed by a small team of meticulous leather cutters, sewers and polishers into a final product we’re proud to put the Saturdays stamp on. During a recent trip to Japan, we visited Mr. T at work to capture the process.■
