Saturdays NYC is looking for a skilled Cafe Lead to join the team in New York. As a cafe lead you get to mentor, train, and inspire the rest of the team as well as work closely with the Store Manager to deliver great tasting coffee and guest experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Dial in our espresso machine and grinder daily in order to meet brand standards and deliver a high-quality product
- Lead trainings for new and existing baristas team members to meet brand standards
- Ensure all ordering is done in a timely manner while maintaining an accurate inventory
- Showcase an excellent understanding of the menu, delivering food and beverages as per brand expectations
- Responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety requirements to ensure a well maintained and inviting environment that is in compliance with all DOH, DOB and FDNY for both the café and the private space.
- Maintain all café standards from opening to closing whilst adhering to relevant health and safety standards
- Perform opening procedures as instructed, brewing coffee and tea, dusting and cleaning all display cases and ensuring storefront is up to standard.
- Complete and send closing recaps to HQ Office
- Communicate regularly with store leadership regarding sales, staffing, employee performance, and overall operational efficiency
- Greet customers with a genuine and warm welcome
- Help develop cafe menu with additions/creations of seasonal drinks, items, etc.
- Offer answers to questions and concerns with patience, confidence and professionalism
- Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Barista or the ability to demonstrate exceptional knowledge in the field
- Keen attention to detail
- Passion in teaching
- Demonstrate a passion for exceptional customer service and experience
- Computer and till system literate
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Food/Beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
